Our Story - An Electrician strives for change
This is my first attempt at Blogging so please be nice!
I thought I should start with our story, where the idea came from, how we got to where we are today and everything in between.
I've always had an interest in art in many forms but from the age of 18 that interest turned into obsession with one art form in particular, tattoos. With having been tattooed pretty consistently since the age of 18 with less than a month or 2 passing without adding to my collection I always ran the risk of rushing a decision about a tattoo whether it be placement or design, a conflict in my vision compared to my Tattooists vision or just a good old "damn, what was I thinking" moment.
Unfortunately, my Tattoo Removal journey started based on 2 of the previously mentioned scenarios, I had a tattoo which didn't turn out how I envisioned it and also wasn't placed to my liking (I'm very particular). So I guess you could say my dream started in 2014 when I decided to start getting that Tattoo removed.
After my first 2 treatments I thought to myself, wow, I could do this! I could be in and amongst the Tattoo Industry without any artistic flare of my own ha! This started the ball rolling, I distinctly remember the day of my 3rd treatment, I asked the Laser Operator how they got into the industry and where they completed their training to which their answer was "I'm not telling you that, I have to protect my Industry". I remember thinking, well then, thanks for that extra motivation to not only join "your" industry but one day be better than you!
Over the next few months there was a lot of research done to find what training was required, who provided that training and where. I ended up finding ClinicalPro who literally provided everything needed to not only get qualified but start your own business. I completed my Infection Control Certificate and my Laser Safety Officer Certificate to gain my Trainee Use License which then allowed me to start completing my 100 hours of Practical Training in a Clinic under supervision of a Radiation Safety Officer.
So obviously to complete my 100 hours of Prac I needed "Models", I was lucky enough to have 16 legendary clients who committed to helping me get my 100 hours done, it was a win win really, they got their tattoos removed (at an extremely low cost) and I completed my hours! Completing these hours took just under 14 months which to me felt like 14 years, I must thank all of my loyal "Models" who put their trust in me, you're all absolute legends and without you this would all still be just a dream.
While I was completing these hours I was planning the layout and building our Clinic, researching and sourcing all necessary equipment, consumables and administrative materials, building a website and social media presence as well as keep the clients rolling in!
Our Grand Opening was the 13th of October 2018 and what a day it was! Nothing crazy but just the sense of achievement was something I had never experienced before. It's been nearly 6 months since we opened our doors in Mount Cotton and not a day goes by that we don't feel that sense of achievement pushing us to be better. I'm super proud of what I have planned, built and worked so hard to achieve. Obviously there's been A LOT of help along the way and to everyone who has helped in any way I'm so greatly appreciative, especially my wife, without her by my side supporting every move none of this would have been achievable.
We aren't just a Tattoo Removal Clinic, we are a Queensland Radiation Health Certified Clinic with a Queensland Radiation Health Certified Laser Operator (me) who understands how Tattoo Removal works providing professional Laser Treatments with a Queensland Radiation Health Certified Laser, can you say the same about your chosen Laser Operator?
Everything mentioned throughout this Blog has been achieved while working a full time job. I hope to one day quit my Monday to Friday job to live my dream of providing quality and professional Laser solutions for all aspects of the Laser Industry. Yes, Laser Tattoo Removal is only the beginning of what I hope to achieve within the Laser Industry. I believe they say, watch this space...?
